Fake YouTube Views Still Monetized by Google

New research on YouTube's advertising has shown that advertisers are charged for any ad views, whether they are made by humans or robots. The technology Google uses to monitor views notices about 83% of bots, but still charges for about 91% of the views to AdWords. YouTube is pretty permissive when it comes to monetizing fake views even though they are more strict with adding these fake views to the view count. Google responded by saying they will contact the people who did the study and that they put in a lot of effort to make sure these fake views are removed before advertisers are charged.
