Adjust Budgets easily and efficiently with our updated Budget Settings
We know that managing PPC Budgets is just one part of your busy workday. It's why we're constantly trying to improve Shape to make doing so as easy as possible so you can focus on high value optimizations.
With that in mind, we've redesigned the Budget Settings page to give you better control over your Budgets. We've simplified the Budget Settings page and released a few new tools to help improve your budgeting process.
Streamlined Budget Settings Page
Clicking into Budget Settings, you'll now see a pared-down Budget Settings experience.
No more digging through the Budget Settings form to find the one setting you want to update. Budget Settings have been broken into four sections: Budget, Alerting, Automation, and Status.
Select your desired Budget Setting section, update, and save changes. You're done!
The New Budget Scheduler
Do you have clients with Budgets that fluctuate throughout the year? Shape's new Budget Scheduler allows you to set future Budget amounts for the next 12 cycles.
Budget Scheduler eliminates the hassle of remembering to input client Budget adjustments at the start of each new cycle. No more calendar alerts or notes!
Check out our blog on Budget Scheduler to learn how to schedule future budgets.
Inactive Budget Status
Regardless the circumstances, inevitably there comes a time when you will need to eliminate some of your clients' Budgets. While deleting a Budget is useful to declutter your Dashboard, doing so makes accessing its historical data difficult.
Rather than deleting a Budget or leaving it on your Dashboard indefinitely, a Budget (recurring or one-time) can now be deactivated and hidden under "Inactive Budgets."
Unsure of whether to deactivate or delete a Budget?
Deactivating a Budget is useful if you wish to access historical data for a specific Budget/campaign set but the campaigns are no longer active or you no longer wish to monitor their spend.
Deactivating a Budget places it into a suspended state and conceals the Budget in the "Inactive Budgets" section of your dashboard. Performance metrics will no longer update but the Budget and it's historical metrics can be accessed at any time.
Deleting a Budget removes the Budget from your Dashboard permanently.
Campaign metrics are still accessible via your Archives but are no longer totaled together under a single Budget. We recommend deleting Budgets when you no longer require access to their performance data (for example: when a client leaves).
IMPORTANT: Deactivating or deleting a Budget will not pause or delete campaigns in the Budget. Campaigns will continue to run and accumulate spend until they are paused or deleted in Shape or the advertising platforms.
