Yahoo has decided to follow other search engines and start displaying featured snippets in their search results. The key difference is that they pull all of their answers from Yahoo Answers. The title says it all! There was some speculation a couple months back about Twitter removing the 140-character limit, but the rumors have been dispelled; the limit will stay in place. Jack Dorsey confirmed this on The Today Show last Friday!
Visual social media is becoming increasingly important in brands' advertising campaigns and Tumblr and Snapchat are two, commonly unused big ones!
Tumblr users often block out any advertisements shared on the page, so creating quality content is better than advertising. It is important to keep content short, catchy and visual. Users like things to jump out at them, especially since it only takes a second to get from one post to another. Content should use good tags to make sure that the right people are searching for their content. Finally, brands should be involved with the community by actively reblogging other people's content that is relevant or even just entertaining.
Snapchat has grown immensely in the last couple years, in both its use and the number of opportunities for advertisers to have their posts and content reach users. Some people might avoid the use of Snapchat due to posts only being temporary, but it is a useful way to create intimate relationships with customers. Snapchat's new live content drives users to consistently check brands; strategic use of it can help build relationships with users. Exclusive content is key! Cross-platform promotion is also very important. Using other social channels to direct traffic to your Snapchat is a strong way to get people connected and keep them in your network.
