10,000-Character Tweets May Arrive On Twitter In A Matter Of Months

10,000-character Tweets could be here sometime in the next couple of months. The current 140-character limit was originally designed to fit in with the 160-character limit of SMS messages, which has become a bit unnecessary with an increasingly connected mobile internet network. The update wouldn't change the timeline as the posts will still stick to 140-characters with a 'See more' option to view the rest of these messages. Twitter has expressed its desire to increase user growth and this may be one of their possible solutions. This would also improve ad targeting ability as more text allows for more keywords.
