Snapchat is now working on an API for advertising! They have met with some ad agencies and tech firms in order to possibly get an API out for testing this spring. Adding an API would allow Snapchat to great expand their advertising offerings with better targeting, more ad formats, different delivery, analytics, etc. Snapchat is quite different from other platforms currently using an API for advertising meaning that the tech firms will need to adapt their software to be implemented by Snapchat. It will be interesting to see how this new release unfolds and what kinds of advertising features it leads to.
