Will Facebook’s “Empathy” Button Be Good News For Marketers?

Facebook is working on releasing a new system for users to share emotions with posts that aren't always positive. The details about how they plan on doing this hasn't been shared yet, but based on some recent patents, it could be an emoji system. Currently, in order for marketers to see how viewers perceive their posts, they can see likes, unfollows, shares, hidden posts, and spam reports. These aren't very specific to the details behind why users use any of the negative options and hopefully this new addition will improve negative feedback for companies.
