Pinterest Narrows Ad Focus & Support To Its Two Core Categories

Pinterest has decided to shift its entire focus into the retail and consumer goods categories. They have basically decided that any categories outside of those two are self-serve with ads and hands-on support. The Head of Monetization for Pinterest spoke on the decision saying that they are a small team and think this is the best path for them in the long haul. These two categories account for about 28% of the total ad revenue from the first half of 2015 with 22% of the $27.5 billion in spend coming from retail alone.
