Google’s New Shopping Insights Tool Shows Retailers Product Search Intent At The Local Level

Google's shopping insights tools allows for more detailed maps and data about 5000 of the most popular items on Google for retailers to improve their targeting with paid search campaigns. The new features include heat maps showing product trends, what items are being searched for on what devices, aggregated search queries to group them based on related phrases as opposed to keywords, and monitoring of trending items. This tool is still in beta so all inputs must be generated manually and the reporting functionality of it is not very strong, but it is a work in progress. Google posted a tutorial video of how to use it:
